On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my distinct privilege to welcome you to the Laryngology and Voice Association Conference (LVA) 2027, at IMS, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Among the basic essentials of life — food, water and air — respiration stands out as a self-regulated, continuous mechanism that spans from our first breath to our last. Beyond mere survival, the unique essence of being human lies in our ability to communicate, and speech is our most powerful tool. The seamless execution of verbal communication relies entirely on the perfect harmony and functioning of the laryngeal framework and the lower airways. When diseases disrupt these vital structures, they impact the very core of human connection and survival.
The Laryngology and Voice Association is dedicated to mastering these complex conditions, ultimately improving the quality of life and extending life itself through specialized care and innovation. It is only fitting that we gather to discuss this vital anatomical region in the holy city of Varanasi — the oldest living city in the world and the abode of Lord Shiva. Just as Lord Shiva held the toxins of the universe in his throat to protect humanity, our specialty dedicates itself to guarding and healing the throat and voice.
We are honored to host this conference in July 2027 at the historic Banaras Hindu University (BHU), a magnificent institution envisioned by Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya. The event is proudly presented by the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) — consistently ranked among the top ten medical institutions in India — and spearheaded by the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, a proud flag-bearer of our specialty since the 1960s.
LVA 2027 will bring together leading international faculty and national experts to exchange groundbreaking knowledge and elevate patient care. We welcome you all to this premier academic feast. Let us learn, collaborate, and grow together.
Dhanyavad. Namaste.
